The Honourable Minister: Senator Liyel O. Imoke
 Senator Imoke holds B.A. Degrees in International Relations and an LLB Degree from the University of Maryland (USA) and Buckingham ( England ) respectively.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1988. Between 1982 and 1992 Senator Imoke worked as Trade Consultant, Global Africa Trade Group Inc., Washington DC ; and as Partner, International Law offices of Awah and Lloyd Ukwu, Washington , DC . He was also Principal Partner, Liyel Imoke and Co., Lagos .
He was elected Senator, Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1992.
From 1993 to 1999, he was in private business during which he was Managing Consultant, Telsat Communications Ltd., Lagos ; Executive Chairman, Value Mart Nig. Ltd., Lagos , and Executive Director, Trident Petroleum and Gas Ltd., Lagos .
In 1999, he was appointed Special adviser to the President on Utilities, and also served as Chairman, Presidential Committee on OMPADEC and NEPA Technical Board respectively.
