The department is re-positioning itself to satisfactorily meet Nigerian's industrial demands by regulating monitoring, sanitizing and galvanizing the metallurgical sector of Nigeria .

And also to enable the country achieve its much desired goal of industrial development to increase the economy of the country and improving the living standard of the citizens via quality local raw materials development and inspectorate service delivery in the Metallurgical sector/industry.
